Led Neon flex Frequently asked questions.

What is LED neon flex?

LED neon flex is a flexible, energy-efficient alternative to traditional neon lighting. It is made of a clear PVC tubing that contains multiple small LED lights, which emit a bright and vibrant light. LED neon flex is often used for indoor and outdoor lighting, signage, and decoration, as it is flexible and easy to install, and it can be cut to custom lengths. Additionally, LED neon flex has a longer lifespan than traditional neon and is more environmentally friendly, as it uses less energy and generates less heat.

Does LED neon flex look like real glass neon ?

Simple answer is yes, from a distance it is very difficult to tell the difference, to the trained eye if you get up close its easier to differentiate.

Why should I use LED neon flex instead of glass neon?

The first question that needs to be asked is, will this sign be travelling to many different locations (ie as part of a trade show) if so LED neon flex is very sturdy and can with stand lots of bumps and bangs, real neon is made from glass and is not designed to travel as it is easily smashed.

Cost, for example the ‘palace’ LED neon flex sign above will cost on average £1200 - £1500, if this sign were to be made from glass neon you can expect to pay x2 or x3 the price of a LED neon flex sign .

Cost to run, a (1 x 1 metre) LED neon flex sign on average will use 25 p per 10 hour day to run (based on electricity rates 05/02/2023)

A glass neon sign (1 x 1 metre) will use roughly to 50p per 10 hour day to run (based on electricity rates 05/02/2023)

Does LED neon flex come in different colours?

LED neon flex is available in a wide range of colours, including traditional neon colours like red, green, and blue, as well as other colours like pink, orange, yellow, and white. Some LED neon flex products also offer colour-changing options, which allow you to switch between different colours and even create colour-changing effects, we would refer to this as RGB LED neon flex.

What power supply will I need for my LED neon flex sign?

Our signs are either created using a 12v or 24v system, the sign will use a transformer that will simply plug straight into your 13a mains plug socket.

Can LED neon flex be mounted onto any material ?

At Chateaux Projects we always groove our neon flex into the material, some companies will use mounting clips, but we prefer our methods as it ensures that the flex doesn’t move or get damaged, we can mount flex into acrylic or painted timber boards, if we need to mount the flex onto metal we would create our own clear plastic bracket.

What thickness does LED neon flex come in?

We use single colour LED neon flex thicknesses 6mm - 8mm - 15mm.

LED RGB neon flex 8mm - 15mm.

Can the LED neon flex be controlled via a DMX controller?

Answer yes, when enquiring about LED neon flex work through Chateaux Projects simply let us know your controller needs, we buy our DMX controllers from ‘LED TECHNOLOGIES’, or if you need a simpler system we can provide Remote control LED neon flex signs.
