What is CNC cutting?
CNC cutting is a manufacturing process that uses computer-controlled tools to cut materials into specific shapes and sizes.
What materials can be cut with CNC machines?
At Chateaux we tend to stick to cutting plastics and timber sheet ranging from 4mm thickness to 25mm thicknesses, we will also cut laminated sheets that have a thin layer of metal.
How is the design for a CNC cutting job created?
We accept files drawn and saved in the formats - DWG/DXF/Ai, but don’t worry if you don’t have these drawings, we offer a drawing service for £30 an hour (2hr minimum).
What is the accuracy of CNC cutting?
Our machine is accurate to within 1 millimetre.
How long does it take to complete a CNC cutting job?
Generally its quite difficult to create an average calculation as cnc cutting jobs are so different, but as a rule of thumb, a full 18mm sheet will take between 1.5 - 2 hours to cut . (we charge £45 p/h for cnc cutting).

If you are in a rush for your cnc cutting we generally can turn around your cutting within 48 hours.
What’s the largest material we can cnc?
Our machine fits an 8x4 ft sheet in millimetres that’s 1200mm x 2440.
Can you position the items on the sheet to be as cost effective as possible?
We we have a ‘nesting function’ on our software that positions the shapes in the most space saving way, giving you the opportunity to save sheet space.
